Cruise Port Parking FAQ

Where do you leave your car when you go on a cruise?
You can leave your car at the terminal parking lot when you go on a cruise. Some cruise lines have designated parking lots, but these can be expensive. Some hotels near the cruise ports may offer a “cruise and stay” package, which lets you park your car at the hotel when you’re on the cruise. It’s always best to reserve parking at the offsite parking garages/lots to save money on cruise parking.
Do you have to pay for parking when you go on a cruise?
Parking at cruise ports comes with a cost. However, cruise port parking rates vary by the location and the port from where you’re traveling. Some hotels near the cruise ports offer a “cruise and stay” package, which may offer free parking when you’re on the cruise. Compared to onsite parking lots, offsite parking lots offer port parking at much cheaper rates.
Do cruise lines have parking?
Yes, some cruise lines do have parking garages/lots at the terminal exclusively for their guests. These parking garages/lots will be at the port itself so that you can board your ship soon after parking your vehicle. However, these parking garages/lots can be expensive.
What does park and cruise mean?
‘Park and cruise’ is a package that hotels near cruise ports offer. If you book your stay with them, some hotels will let you park your car in their lot during your cruise.
Can I leave my car at a hotel while on a cruise?
Yes, you can leave your car at a hotel while on a cruise if you opt for the “cruise and stay” package. However, you can park at hotels near the port without booking a stay when you book via Cruiseparking.com.
How much does it cost to park at the port?
The cruise port parking rate you pay varies by the port from where you’re traveling. Also, the rate will differ if you choose to park in the lot managed by your cruise line.
What time does the cruise ship start boarding?
Ideally, cruise ships start boarding four hours before the scheduled departure time, normally between 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. However, the actual boarding time may vary depending on the class of room you bought.
What are overnight port parking options?
For overnight port parking, you can park in the garages/lots adjacent to the port terminal or the ones offered by the cruise lines. Some hotels near the port also let you park your vehicle if you book a stay during your cruise. The other safest and cheapest overnight cruise parking option is to reserve parking at an offsite garage/lot near the cruise port.
Is it safe to leave my car overnight at port parking?
Yes, it is safe to leave your car overnight in most port parking garages/lots if you park it properly in a designated long-term parking spot. Some garages/lots offer 24-hour security, including surveillance cameras.
