Overview of Disney Cruises 

The first Disney cruise set sail in 1998 with the Disney Wonder as its inaugural ship. Having sailed for 27 years, Disney now has eight ships on its cruise line, including Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny, which are the upcoming launches.

Disney has improved with each launch and has added more amenities and entertainment to its newer ships. These ships offer fun and relaxation at the same time, making them suitable for all ages.

Dining 

When it comes to dining, Disney Treasure offers three immersive restaurants:

  • Plaza de Coco—This restaurant is based on the movie Coco, which includes a theatrical experience along with the characters from the movie. The restaurant’s cuisine centers around the flavors of Mexico. 
  • Worlds of Marvel—Are you a Marvel fan? Then this restaurant will be your favorite place to visit. It plays music from Guardians of the Galaxy and consists of quiz games and other fun stuff for Marvel fans. 
  • 1923—The restaurant bears the name of 1923, the year the original studio came into existence. This restaurant evokes an old Hollywood vibe with its California cuisine and storyboards.

Itinerary 

Disney Treasure usually cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, which lasts for seven days. The main areas visited are Tortola, St. Thomas, Castaway Cay, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Falmouth. The cruise begins its journey from Port Canaveral, Florida. 

Newest Disney Cruise Ships to Be Launched 

There are two ships to be launched in late 2025: Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure. 

Disney Destiny 

Destiny is one of the newest ships to be launched in November 2025, which will set sail from Fort Lauderdale. With a size of 144,000 gross tons, Disney Destiny has the capacity to hold 4,166 guests.

Destiny’s first cruise involves a four-night cruise to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean. It offers top-quality dining with three immersive, themed restaurants: Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, Worlds of Marvel, and 1923. There are also quick-bite spots like Marceline Market and Walkup Cafés. 

Character interactions, Broadway-style shows, pools and waterslides, and movie displays are all part of Destiny’s entertainment offerings. Children can enjoy various clubs, while adults can enjoy various lounges. The staterooms vary in type based on the views they offer, and there are also suites available.

Disney Adventure 

Disney has not yet launched Adventure, one of its newest cruise ships. It is planned to launch in December 2025, sailing from Singapore. Disney Adventure features many new additions compared to other Disney cruise ships, including seven themed areas.

The seven themed areas include Disney Imagination Garden, Disney Discovery Reef, Toy Story Place, Marvel Landing, Wayfinder Bay, San Fransokyo Street, and Town Square. The new additions include Marvel Style Studio, Royal Society for Friendship and Tea, Duffy and Friends shop, Duffy and the Friendship Show, and Captain Jack Sparrow and the Siren Queen Show. 

 Disney Adventure also has many new restaurants and lounges available. Overall, Adventures offers a lot more amenities than other Disney cruise ships.
